What Hemisphere Is Europe In?

The majority of Europe is in the Eastern Hemisphere, simply a portion of it is contained in the Western Hemisphere. The globe can be divided into two hemispheres, due east and west; the starting of each hemisphere is at the Prime Meridian, which crosses through Greenwich, London, and represents 0 degrees longitude. If the world is divided into Northern and Southern hemispheres, Europe is solely in the Northern Hemisphere.

All the state and ocean that lies w of the Prime Meridian (up to 180 degrees) is considered to be in the Western Hemisphere. The major continents that are located in the Western Hemisphere are North and Southward America, which are made up of Canada, the United States, the Caribbean islands, Mexico and more. Also, the sparsely populated Greenland is in this hemisphere, along with approximately one-half of Antarctica

The Eastern Hemisphere contains a significant amount more than of state than the western counterpart. Starting with about of Europe, it too contains all of Russia and Asia. Additionally, most of Africa is in this hemisphere, along with all of Australia, New Zealand and the islands in the Eastern Pacific region. The planet can also be divided into Northern and Southern hemispheres, starting at the Equator.
